Poem: The Beating Heart Everywhere

Fri, 9/21/2012 - by Tim Nonn

one year

since we rose up

and linked hands

and listened to one another

and heard the whisper

and the beating heart

of a rebellion

of love

against the cold logic

of profit

against the easy violence

of power

against the sickening indifference

of despair

for the cool sensibility

of rivers

for the sacred wholeness

of being

for the passionate messiness

of hope

we came together

again

and linked hands

and listened to one another

and heard the whisper

and the beating heart

everywhere
