Anonymous Issues Emergency Call to Action: "Phase II of Operation Defense"

Anonymous Issues Emergency Call to Action: "Phase II of Operation Defense"
Mon, 4/30/2012 - by Occupy.com

In response to Thursday's passage of the Cyber Information Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, in the U.S. House of Representatives, Anonymous issued an emergency message calling on U.S. citizens to protest the latest anti-Constitutional legislation that will allow for detailed information-sharing about individuals between private companies and the government. According to Tech Dirt, the so-called cybersecurity bill would allow government:

"To search information it collects under CISPA for the purposes of investigating American citizens with complete immunity from all privacy protections as long as they can claim someone committed a 'cybersecurity crime.' Basically it says the Fourth Amendment does not apply online. Moreover, the government could do whatever it wants with the data as long as it can claim that someone was in danger of bodily harm, or that children were somehow threatened--again, notwithstanding absolutely any other law that would normally limit the government's power."

Issuing "Phase II of Operation Defense," Anonymous is calling on Americans nationwide to "destroy this corrupt legislation" through coordinated physical demonstrations outside of the corporations that have openly supported CISPA.

"We will not stand while our rights are being taken away," a computerized voice on the video states.

What follows is a detailed list of the tech, banking, consumer and credit card companies most strongly pushing the legislation, and the dates for sustained protests outside their buildings of operation for two months between May 1 and June 30:

AT&T, May 1-4 IBM, May 4-7 Intel, May 8-13 Microsoft, May 14-19 Verizon Wireless, May 20-26 Bank of America, May 27-June 2 Chase Bank, June 3-6 McGraw-Hill, June 7-10 Pepsi-Coca Cola, June 11-14 Target, June 15-20 Walmart, June 21-25 CVS, June 26-28 Mastercard, Visa and American Express, June 29-30

"Phase II will follow the same organization as the demonstrations that were done against the Church of Scientology," the video states, a reference to the collective's devastating sunlight campaign exposing the Church of Scientology.

"Find organizers or organize the event yourself," the video urges. "You have the right to protest if you care about your freedom of speech, your right to privacy and your government censoring you."

See you in the streets.

From a pro-democratic perspective, civil society and new media organisations are surging in the aftermath of the Orban regime.

The country’s new prime minister, Andy Burnham, has promised a break from the politics of the last 40 years—realizing more broadly that Labour must stand up for the 99% against big business, or the party will become irrelevant.

The tragic shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo is just the latest example of ICE having a fundamental disrespect for human life — further proving why the agency should be stripped of funding and shut down, and its rank-and-file agents and leadership prosecuted.

While the U.S., EU and their allies are enabling Rojava—the strongest force against Islamic State— to fall, it is vital for internationalists to continue to support this beacon of democracy and liberation.

June 23, 2026 may be remembered as the beginning of the end of the Democratic Party establishment.

The current wave of food recalls is a direct byproduct of President Donald Trump’s administration deliberately removing the safeguards put in place aimed at protecting American consumers more than a century ago.

We can still celebrate success while simultaneously putting a cap on net worth.

Much like the resistance to AI data centers, the opposition to Flock surveillance cameras has brought the left and the right together against billionaires who are trying to force America into becoming even more of a police state.
