A protege of Sage Francis and Strange Famous Records, rapper B. Dolan released "Film The Police" at the apex of the media circus surrounding Occupy Wall Street last winter. The song, a clever homage to both NWA and citizen videography, quickly caught the ear of progressive celebs like Michael Moore, as well as the Occu-mafia on Twitter, and went on to capture 70,000 pairs of eyeballs during its first week of release. Funny, it seems all the more appropriate now with the American Spring dawning and a spirited election year already upon us. Keep your batteries charged and your memory cards handy, kids.
